We bring you the wonderful talents of Haley Ringo to kick off this Friday morning!. Haley is a wedding and lifestyle photographer based in Austin, TX. Today she shares how a trip to the Newseum in Washington D.C inspired her to take up photography and in short changed her life. We love her passion for telling stories and are excited to bring you s piece of hers.
Heirloom: Tell us about your journey into photography!
Haley: When I was a sophomore in high school, I visited the Newseum in Washington D.C. and fell in LOVE with all the Pulitzer prize winning photographs. Every image had a video of the photographer (either from the Associated Press or National Geographic) explain what was happening. Each of the photos had such depth and captured such raw emotion, and I remember thinking that I wanted to tell people's stories in that way, with such boldness. From there, I bought my first camera, and eventually by my freshman year of college, I booked my first wedding! I LOVE love, I LOVE people, and I LOVE my job! Getting to capture and tell people's love stories through photographs that their grandchildren will look at one day and hopefully be able to feel emotion through is the most rewarding job I could have ever asked for!
Heirloom: What do you like to do for fun?
Haley: I LOVE to curl up and watch Netflix or spend time outdoors with friends! Austin is TOO beautiful to stay inside!
Heirloom: What intrigues you most about photography?
Haley: I want my images to be ones that capture pure & raw emotion. My goal is that through my photos, I can show clients just how captivating and beautiful they truly are!
Heirloom: Do you have any morning rituals or things you do to get ready for a long day of editing or shooting?
Haley: What helps me start my day off best is getting up and eating breakfast, spending time with the Lord, and working out! I feel like all of those things give me energy and motivation throughout my day!!
